DANGER DEN OFF TO 2-0 START
Tex Cokley scored 35 points and Ryan Isom got his stroke on with all 21 of his points coming from behind the 3-point line as Danger Den defeated Teevin Brothers 86-69 Tuesday night in Knappa Summer Basketball League action.
Nate McBride had a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds for Danger Den, which is the highest scoring team through two games.
The Logger held off a late comeback by Link's Outdoor for a 70-66 victory. The Logger never trailed, but couldn't put away Link's, which got two three-pointers from Paul Jarrett and one from Bo Ward down the stretch to make the game interesting.
Brian Jackson paced The Logger (1-1) with 32 points and held Jarrett to 18 after the former Ilwaco star scored 33 points on opening night. Josh Ray had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the 0-2 Link's and a woefully out-of-shape Matt Richert contributed no points and one paltry rebound, but managed to not turn the ball over or puke on his shoes.
Nygaard/Hunt defeated Ed's Septic 71-64 led by Mike Cokley's 28 points. Former Tillamook standout Andrew Nieman, currently playing for Lower Columbia, led Ed's (1-1) with 28. Matt Johnson added 25 points for Nygaard/Hunt, which improved to 2-0 heading into a Thursday showdown with Danger Den.
