THURSDAY ROUNDUP

BASEBALL
N.W. Christian 14, Naselle 2...A scoreless tie into the fourth inning, the Navigators scored seven runs to eventually pull away in a seven-inning victory.
Naselle 1, Tacoma Baptist 0...In game two of the split doubleheader, Matt Blain, Matt Chavez and Casey Heagy combined on a 3-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as the Comets kept their season alive. Naselle scored the only run of the game in the first inning. The Comets (3-8)will now face North Beach and possibly Tacoma Baptist again in a 10:00 a.m. playoff at Montesano Saturday to determine the Pacific B League's third place representative to the District IV Tournament.

TRACK AND FIELD
BOYS: Naselle 90, Ocosta 42...Kyle Burkhalter was a four-time winner for the Comets, taking first place in the high jump (5-10), triple jump (32-3), 400 meters (53.96) and 4-by-400 relay team (4:01.9). Beau Keightley added a first place finish in the javelin (139-2) for Naselle.
GIRLS: Ocosta 71, Naselle 67...Erin Saari took home four individual first places, including a personal best 5-1 in the high jump. Kelsey Fletcher also P.R.'d in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:36.9. Nichole Laney took first in the 400 meters (1:07.49). The Comets head to Raymond Wednesday for the Pacific B League subdistrict meet at 3:30 p.m.
Results not reported by Warrenton, Knappa and Ilwaco coaches for Thursday's meets.

I'm aware of that site and it's very impressive. Unfortunately, it only reports individual marks and does not have team scores. If I don't get team scores, a meet goes as unreported. We cover teams on this site, not individuals. Sadly, we have had very little cooperation from area track coaches this spring and we rely on first-hand accounts for our stories.
