WARRIORS IMPACT ALL-STATE SERIES

Despite a wet weekend, the 3A/2A/1A All-Star Baseball Series played three games in two days at Roy Helser Field on the campus of Linfield College in McMinnville, with the West team taking two out of three games.

Warrenton head coach Lennie Wolfe coached the West team and was supported by two of his 4-year senior stalwarts.

Dan Wolfe went 3-for-8 at the plate in the series with a double, three runs scored and five runs batted in. Wolfe hit a 2-run double and scored on a wild pitch in game one of the series, won by the East 5-3. The West won the next two games 8-3 on Saturday and 20-8 on Sunday.

Eric Gantenbein also was 3-for-8 hitting over the weekend with a pair of RBI's and three runs scored. Gantenbein also threw out an opposing basestealer while paired in a battery with Wolfe on Sunday. Wolfe threw three innings in two mound appearances, allowing one earned run with three strikeouts and two bases on balls.

The Warriors Oregon Junior baseball team returns to action at home on Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader against Tillamook.
