JAYS CAN'T STOP CAMAS VALLEY

The Camas Valley Hornets rolled to a 32-6 first quarter lead on the way to an 80-34 victory over Jewell Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

Jewell was able to produce offensively, scoring through the air, on the ground and on defense, but the Jays simply could not get a defensive stop.

"It was extremely hot," said second-year Bluejays head coach Ryan Henderson of the game which started at 4:00 p.m. on a steamy afternoon in the southern part of the state. "They had a pretty good quarterback and good receivers, but we need to get in better shape and improve on defense."

Cody Greenwood threw a touchdown pass to Will Steinweg, Will Crook had two rushing touchdowns and Scott Prendergraft returned an interception for a touchdown for the Jays, who host Arlington in their home opener Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
