SCHOOL RECORD FOR ILWACO BOYS GOLF
The Ilwaco Fishermen defeated the La Center Wildcats 153-179 in a boys golf dual match at Surfside on Tuesday, setting a school record low score for nine holes.
Jack Whealdon carded a 2-under-par 34, topping teammate Adam Bundy by three strokes for medalist honors. Todd Oakes contributed a 40 and Tyler Johnson completed the scoring with a 42.
"The kids really played well," said Ilwaco head coach Dan Whealdon. "It was obviously some great weather and the course was in great condition and the kids were all excited."
Tanner Roggenkamp led the Wildcats with a score of 43, trailing all of Ilwaco's scoring golfers on the day.
Ilwaco's next competition is at Beacon Rock against Stevenson on Friday.
