RENEGADES DON'T BRING THE WOOD
The North Coast Renegades lost their first two games at the AAU Rose City Invitational Tournament at Clackamas Community College yesterday.
The Renegades got solid pitching performances--despite shaky starts--from recent Knappa graduates Sean Ferguson and Derek Jacobson, but struggled offensively at the wood bat tournament.
Mooch Smith had a pair of hits in a game one 4-3 lost to the East County (Sandy) Knights. Ferguson took the loss, pitching the first six innings.
In their second game against N.W. Academy (Clackamas), Jacobson gave up three runs in the first two innings, but pitched brilliantly the rest of the way. Unfortunately, the Renegades were unable to muster up any offense.
The Renegades play their final pool game this morning against Bend, then await a Sunday matchup.
