WILDCATS BACK ON WINNING TRACK

With a barrage of scoring in the late innings, the Seaside Wildcats avenged an earlier loss to the Pacific Javelinas in a mercy-rule shortened 13-3 8-inning win at Sckavone Field in Portland.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 3-6 in Pacific International League play and 7-9 overall heading into this weekend's 4-game home stand against the Skagit Eagles and Portland Titans.

The Wildcats and Eagles square off at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Broadway Field, then play two on Saturday starting at 4:00 p.m. The Portland Titans spend their second consecutive Sunday at Broadway Field with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.

Evan Scandling got the win with a strong outing, allowing five hits and three walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Leading 4-2 in the fifth inning, the Wildcats scored three runs to open up the lead, before adding on in the sixth and seventh, ending the game early with a 3-run eighth inning.

Rob Lloyd had a big night at the plate for the 'Cats, going 4-for-5 with a home run. Adam White also homered for Seaside, as the Wildcats collected 14 hits in the victory.

Friday night is Ladies Night at Broadway Field, with free admission for all females for the game against the Skagit Eagles. The game will also be broadcast live on ESPN Radio, starting at 6:55 p.m.
