ASTORIA 13'S, 15'S WIN OPENERS

Jesse Boord's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Tyler Norfleet with the game-winning run as the Astoria 13-year-old All-stars came from behind to defeat Tri-Couty 7-6 in the opening game of the North Oregon State Tournament at Elks Memorial Field in Ontario.

The Astoria 15-year-olds cruised past The Dalles 13-0 in their five-inning opener in La Grande.

The 13-year-olds trailed most of the way against Tri-County, a team comprised of several communities centered in Heppner. A 4-run fourth inning gave Tri-County a 4-1 lead and they led 6-5 going into the final inning.

Trygve Olson took over on the mound in the seventh inning and retired the side in order, then led off the bottom of the seventh with a double. After Tyler Norfleet's base hit put runners on first and third, Taylor Fox brought home Olson with a game-tying RBI fielder's choice. Boord followed with the game-winning hit.
