Yamhill-Carlton 41, Seaside 14...While defenses continue to load up to stop Zach Anderson and the Yamhill-Carlton passing attack, Tigers running back Willie Webb continues to reap the benefits. Seaside could stop neither Friday night as the Tigers rolled to a 41-14 home victory to remain tied with Astoria atop the Cowapa League at 3-0 heading into next Friday's showdown against the Fishermen at Astoria. Webb rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, part of a 283 yard team effort on the ground. Anderson, the state's leading passer, threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score as the Tigers eliminated Seaside from playoff contention, handing the Gulls their third consecutive loss.
Naselle 40, North Beach 26...The Comets came from behind, scoring the final 18 points of the game to defeat the Hyaks. Naselle improved to 5-3 on the season with its third straight win. Kyle Burkhalter threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, keeping Naselle in the playoff hunt in the Pacific 2B League with games remaining at South Bend Friday and home against Ocosta the following Wednesday.
Oregon Deaf School 38, Jewell 30...In their most competitive game of the year, the Blue Jays final possession ended on downs with a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. Jewell dropped to 0-7 with the loss. Will Crook rushed for 136 yard and two touchdowns with three 2-point conversion runs and 11 tackles on defense. Cody Greenwood also collected 11 tackles, while throwing two touchdown passes to Will Steinweg. Jewell takes on Falls City on Friday.
