VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP-Tuesday

Tillamook def. Astoria 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-8...The Lady Fishermen suffered their first setback of the season after eight straight dual match wins and a tournament championship. Tillamook now trails Astoria by one game in the Cowapa League standings with both teams scheduled to compete at Seaside's 16-team tournament this Saturday and one more Cowapa League meeting at Astoria on Oct. 19.
Castle Rock def. Ilwaco 25-6, 25-15, 25-14...Missing three varsity players for various reasons, the Lady Fishermen were no match for the Rockets at Castle Rock.
O.E.S. def. Warrenton 25-17, 25-15, 25-13...The Warriors put up a good fight in game one, but succumbed to the talented, top-ranked Aardvarks, who feature two future Division I college talents in powerful 6-4 middle hitter Alexandra Mason and athletic 5-6 junior setter/hitter Libby Morrison.
De La Salle def. Knappa 25-22, 25-21, 25-17...The Lady Loggers dropped to 1-6 in N.W. League play with a 3-game loss at De La Salle
Naselle def. Ocosta 25-20, 25-14, 25-23...The Comets rebounded from their first loss of the year to win their final non-league tuneup behind strong serving from Ashley Ahlstrom. Naselle opens Pacific 2B League play at unbeaten Raymond Thursday night.
Jewell def. Willamette Valley 18-25, 25-21, 25-20, 16-25, 15-9...The Lady Jays were tested for the first time, but kept their Casco League record unblemished with a 5-game road win.
Yamhill-Carlton def. Seaside 25-9, 26-24, 25-12...Struggling Seaside is now 0-24 in Cowapa League games, falling to 0-8 in the league standings.
