White Pass 15, Naselle 3 (5 innings)...The Panthers blew open a close game with ten runs in the fourth inning on the way to a win over the Comets at Napavine in the opening round of the 2B District IV Tournament. White Pass, the Central B League champs, went on to defeat Pacific B League champion Ocosta to clinch a state tournament berth. Ocosta defeated Napavine 6-5. John Hines' 2-run single in the first inning gave the Comets an early lead, but White countered with five runs to jump in front. Casey Heagy singled and scored on a Cody Gilbert fielder's choice to make it 5-3 White Pass going into the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Panthers strung together a number of seeing-eye hits and took advantage of a throwing error to gain the eventual winning margin.
Napavine 10, Naselle 0 (5 innings)...Kellen Ashmore tossed a 5-inning 1-hit shutout as the Tigers ousted Naselle from the tournament with a victory at Onalaska. Napavine head coach Bryan Bullock was ejected from the game early for arguing a call that disallowed a Napavine home run. Naselle pitchers Matt Blain and Matt Chavez had trouble throwing strikes early, as the Tigers built an 8-0 lead after two innings. John Hines had the Comets' only hit in the third inning, but Naselle did not get a runner to second base in the game. The Comets season ended with a record of 4-11.
Warrenton 10-10, Catlin Gabel 0-0 (both games 5 innings)...The Warriors took care of business at home, but will need an upset later this week to have a shot at the Lewis & Clark League title and top seed to state. Clatskanie swept Rainier 13-7 and 11-0 in five innings to maintain a one game lead over Warrenton heading into the final day of league play. The Warriors host the Columbians on Friday for a doubleheader, while Clatskanie plays two against Vernonia. Warrenton would have to sweep Rainier and Vernonia would have to sweep Clatskanie for the Warriors to unseat the Tigers from first place. The Warriors outhit the Eagles 11-to-2 in game one of the doubleheader with Dan Wolfe earning the complete game victory to improve to 9-2 on the season. Buddy Davis, Kevin Moore and Billy Sturgell had two hits apiece and Wolfe went 1-for-2 at the plate with two runs batted in. Eric Gantenbein ended game two with a walk-off home run, his second of the day and sixth of the season, to provide the ten-run margin in the fifth inning. Gantenbein finished with three RBI's and pitched all five innings, allowing two hits and no walks with eight strikeouts. Buddy Davis hit his second double of the day. The Warriors improved to 11-2 in Lewis & Clark League play and 17-4 overall.

Scappoose 8, Astoria 2...The Indians set up a showdown for second place in the Cowapa League Friday, keeping pace with Tillamook with a victory at Astoria. Megan Karp had two hits for the Indians, including a disputed home run and finished with four runs batted in as Scappoose improved to 10-3 in the Cowapa League, a game behind first place Yamhill-Carlton and a game ahead of Tillamook. Alex Hillard took the loss for Astoria, allowing seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts in a complete game. Hillard scored one of the two Astoria runs with Sam Koskela and Miranda Abrahams each driving in a run. Emily Burrell went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. Both teams played error-free ball. Astoria closes out its season at Banks with a doubleheader on Friday.
