TUESDAY PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Warrenton 45, Vernonia 29...Jordyn Holt had 11 points and four steals and the Warriors outrebounded the Loggers 31-13 to win for the ninth consecutive time. Audrey Dove had seven rebounds and five steals to go with seven points. Vernonia was led by Brittany Lindauer's 11 points. The Warriors, now 5-0 in league and 12-2 overall, host 9-2 Portland Adventist Thursday night. The Cougars defeated O.E.S. 54-49 Tuesday night, while Rainier annihilated Riverdale 87-22. Rainier and Warrenton are the only unbeaten teams in the Lewis & Clark League, while Portland Adventist brings a 3-1 league record into Thursday night's game at Warrenton. The Warriors have won 12 of 13 since a season-opening loss at Knappa.
Ilwaco 52, Stevenson 37...A slow start saw the Lady Fishermen trailing 23-14 at halftime before blowing away the Bulldogs in the second half. Junior post Lanie Kary scored a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while senior guard Anna Kitzman added 14 points, six boards and five steals. Ilwaco stayed unbeaten the Trico League, improving to 4-0 with the win, 9-3 overall, heading into Friday's first-place showdown at Kalama. The Chinooks tuned up with a 51-36 win at White Salmon to improve to 6-4 overall. La Center defeated Rochester 29-26 in a low scoring game at Rochester.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Warrenton 49, Vernonia 43...No details were reported. The Warriors host Portland Adventist Academy on Thursday night in a game that will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1230 ESPN. Elsewhere in the Lewis & Clark League, Clatskanie defeated Neah-Kah-Nie 76-28, despite playing without injured guards Scott Hodges and Chris Reynolds. Rainier knocked off Riverdale 63-55 and Oregon Episcopal upset Portland Adventist 48-31.
Ocosta 56, Naselle 52...The holiday blahs continue for the Comets, who led 21-8 early but could not sustain that momentum in a loss at Westport. Kyle Burkhalter led Naselle with 17 points and Austin Burkhalter added 15. Tommy Quimby paced the Wildcats with 13 points. Naselle hosts North Beach on Friday night at Patterson Gymnasium. In other Pacific 2B league action Tuesday night, Willapa Valley handed Northwest Christian its first league loss with a 75-66 win at home. North Beach topped South Bend 55-41 and Tacoma Baptist defeated Raymond 63-31
