ASTORIA 13'S MEET IN LOSER OUT GAME

The Astoria 13-1 Babe Ruth All-stars defeated Astoria-2 by a score of 16-3 in a five inning mercy-rule shortened contest at Portland's Walker Stadium Friday night.

With the win, Astoria 13-1 advances to play S.E. Portland tonight at 7:00 p.m. in a loser-out semifinal. The 2 team was eliminated from the district tournament with the loss.

Astoria-1 outhit Astoria-2 16-to-4 in the victory with every starter in the lineup getting at least one hit. Skylar Olsen again led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and four runs batted in. Erik Keating went 3-for-4 with two RBI's.

Billy Kerr was the winning pitcher, pitching four innings. Astoria-2 scored all three of its runs in the fourth on a bases-loaded single by Andy Pittard and a run-scoring fielder's choice by Rain Goza.

Astoria-1 lost to S.E. Portland 4-1 in the first round of the tournament. If they win today's game, they advance to the championship round and face Beaverton Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. A second game, if necessary, would be played Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Astoria-1 needs three straight wins in order to win the tournament and advance to state.
